Dance is a natural instinct that every child has. Given some music and an open space to move in to, they find their own unique expression and joy in movement

Our ballet classes nurture that innate joy with large spaces, wonderful music and teachers who speak to the joy of dancing. Our teachers introduce basic dance positions and concepts like plié, relevé, adagio and allegro, and the thrill of galloping, skipping, running, swirling and leaping through space.

Children in Discovery’s ballet classes will feel confident and creative while dancing on their own and cooperate, interact, and have fun together while dancing in a duet or in a group. Finally, dance increases cognitive development. Children at Discovery learn to recall the differences between steps, and identify certain movement qualities. Children are also exposed to a second language as they learn the official ballet technical terms in French.

Through movement activities and ballet stories such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Coppelia, the teachers at Discovery guide the children through creative explorations where the children can play out different animals, characters and emotions.

All children in our PreBallet 2’s ballet classes must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
