practically preschool

Practically Preschool builds on the linking of classroom learning, creative expression and full body gymnastic experience. Meaningfully integrated into this 2-3 day morning or afternoon program are the underpinnings of formal preschool learning. Children “read” the job chart and contribute to their classroom community. Meetings, weather reports, clean-up and snack times are important aspects of each preschooler’s day as are class tips and outdoor play.

Mathematical thinking is fostered through block building, puzzles and patterning activities. Large and small art activities, such as painting, clay, collage and paper construction, spark new interest in color and texture. Water play, cooking, and caring for Discovery’s hermit crabs are springboards for scientific exploration and allow children to question, experiment and hypothesize.

Language and literacy grow naturally from rich preschool experiences. Pretending together, responding to stories, listening for rhymes and matching letters to sounds … children’s language growth occurs through meaningful interaction and fun. Practically Preschool offers a full spectrum of supportive and challenging experiences for three-and four-year-olds without a full-day commitment. From social and imaginative to cognitive development, Practically Preschool is as instructive as it is engaging!
