Katie Kheel- Dance and Early Childhood Teacher
Katie Kheel began dancing when she was four-years-old. She graduated cum
laude from Connecticut College in 1999 with a BA in Dance and Government,
and received the Joan Connell Memorial Dance Award for outstanding artistry
in dance. In NYC, she has performed as a modern and jazz dancer with various
small professional dance companies. She recently became a mom to daughter,
Sabrina.
In 2006, Katie happily joined Discovery as a dance teacher. Soon afterward,
as her love for teaching grew, she became involved in Discovery's early
childhood program. She currently teaches On My Own and Summer Camp, as well
as Ballet, Preballet, and Get Up and Dance. In addition to Discovery, Katie
has taught at the Muscota New School, PS 180, Neighborhood Holistic in Harlem
and Moving Arts in Harvard, MA.
