Jessica Martinez- Early Childhood & Gymnastics Teacher
Before
coming to Discovery, Jessica spent many years caring for young children
as a babysitter and as the eldest of five kids in her family. She brought
her insights and understanding to Discovery in 2008 when she began as an
On My Own assistant teacher. She is also an accomplished gymnast, who often
supports this program as well.
Jessica is currently a head teacher in both On My Own and Practically Preschool.
She cherishes the early years of childhood; it is her belief that the experiences
of early childhood leave some of the longest lasting impressions. She is
inspired daily by spontaneous moments in her classrooms, from two children
playing cooperatively for the first time to the excited pride of a child
who learns to roll her own play dough ball. It is her goal and her joy to
nurture children's innate desires to understand and experience new interactions
with the world around them.
Jessica is happy to work with the wonderful children at Discovery, and considers
herself lucky to spend each day as part of such a vibrant and talented community
of teachers and artists.
