We started September and Back-to-School off with a bang! Two new gymnastics coaches joined the family, Gael and Rachael. The made time in their busy college schedules to join us. Right off the bat, our parkour program exploded, and by the end of the school year, we had over 75 students enrolled in parkour classes!
In October, Sensei Karin gained her first black belt student, upon Yonatan Lev-Ran’s exciting promotion ceremony at the dojo. We also threw our annual Halloween Bash!
November was a month-long celebration of thankfulness of everyone in our Discovery family, from students and staff, to parents and caregivers.
The holidays were made very bright in December by our shining star dancers, in the annual Nutcracker Ballet Recital.
The long month of January was filled with new beginnings. Though we had to say goodbye to our beloved music teacher Nick, we welcomed in a new music teacher, Jaclyn, who launched our Fiddle Foxes class.
Coach Cristian became a father in February! At Discovery we celebrated the birth of Elias Walker Quesada all month long. We were also joined by three new teachers, Misaki and Marissa in dance and early childhood, and Coach Joe in gymnastics.
In March, we waited out the end of winter by relaxing in our pajamas and making pancakes. We introduced our first parent and child parkour class, called Parkour Warriors.
April saw the ending of our Spring Break, and (finally) the change of season!
We reveled in triumph after our USAIGC Gymnastics Team were crowned co-State Champions throughout the whole month of May!
June was our month of big events. Back-to-back, we hosted the Spring Ballet Recital, the End-of-the-Year Gymnastics Team Gala, and the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Discovery’s Karate Program.
