The Spark! – August 2017

A Note From The Director

Dear Parents,

Summer Camp is quickly coming to an end. As it winds down, we are asking the children about their favorite camp experiences and you can read those cute anecdotes below. Here are some of my favorite things from this summer at Discovery:
  • This is the first summer we had a full day gymnastics camp and it was energizing to see older campers with us during the day. I had the pleasure of teaching dance to them one day this week and it reminded me how much I miss teaching in the summer.
  • Afternoon gym campers filled our afternoons with flips, forward rolls, leaps, and smiling faces! Last year we only had two groups and this year the program grew to four groups.
  • We offered a morning camp for 4/5-year olds for the first time this year and it was a hit!
  • Our morning campers had a special field trip to the Fire Station on 100th Street. The firefighters educated the children, let the campers go on the truck and helped them slide down the pole.
It was an amazing summer and we made wonderful memories!  We hope to see our campers again next Summer or even for a Fall class. Enjoy the final weeks of Summer.
Warm Wishes,

Katie Kheel
